The Manufacturing Division of Great Western Corporation is amongst Australia's leading metal fabricators, machinists, manufacturers and finishers.

An incredibly flexible organisation which is coupled to a broad skills base. In effect this means that Great Western are well equipped to manufacture and supply assemblies or componentry for virtually any product made from metal.

The GWC manufacturing facility at Toowoomba

Strategically located at the crossroads of Queensland's regional road network in Toowoomba - 120 kilometres west of Brisbane - Great Western occupies a massive 2.6 hectare facility which is quite easily accessible by road, rail and air.

The site is dominated by two large sheds providing some 9,000 square metres of single-level, undercover floor-space.

A highly skilled and professional workforce offers expertise across all areas of metal manufacturing, from prototype to final assembly and finishing.

Quality is assured by accreditation to ISO 9002 and WaterMark licences. Great Western is also certified to product test, according to Australian Design Rules, ADR 17. A leading edge MRP scheduling software package complements our production quality, ensuring on-time processing and final delivery.

As a result of Great Western's absolute commitment to quality control, Great Western Corporation also manufactures some of the world's leading heavy vehicle brands, mainly for Australia's demanding defence forces. Great Western Corporation also provide specialised equipment for relevant mining industry requirements.

A vast array of specialised equipment includes CNC and NC controlled lathes, drills, machining centres, 40 tonne turret punch and digital readout milling machines. Our machine shop includes in extent of twenty machines together with an array of dedicated support equipment. This includes gear cutting and high-volume cold forming machinery.

Our welding and fabrication centre includes two robotic welders and other high capacity, automatic welding equipment for both ferrous and non ferrous materials. In addition there is a full complement of manual welding bays, guillotines, cutting equipment and a fully equipped CNC pressing section.

Finally, our finishing capability has been developed to match the exceptionally diverse nature of our output. Our paint shop is completely undercover and caters for acrylic, enamel, polyurethane and epoxy paint applications. Two pack applications and zinc chromate coatings are also catered for.
